With the Black Seabass season coming to a close this month we are looking ahead to mid-April when we plan to start running a few Offshore Tuna Trips out of Virginia Beach south as far as the Point off the Outer Banks of North Carolina. As the Tuna make their way north our runs will become shorter as we fish the Triple Zero’s, Cigar, the Norfolk and Washington Canyon and points in-between. Seabass reopens mid-May and we will be booking trips to the wrecks that range about 30 miles off the coast of Virginia Beach. Inshore opportunities will start heating up as Cobia and Red Drum make their annual migration into our waters, with their arrival starting in late may and early June. The Spanish Mackerel make a showing about the same time and anglers may encounter Ribbonfish as well. Tuna should peak in June and be available thru the Summer with numbers tapering off as we enter July. Marlin will be sporadic in June and their numbers will steadily increase as we enter July, peaking in August and lasting through at least mid September. Late September should provide a couple good weeks of Tuna fishing. As we move into October offshore anglers can anticipate a good Wahoo bite and inshore charters can expect most species to start tapering off. October through the end of the year will continue to provide good Black Seabass opportunities as well as Swordfish and other deep drop species.
